Boyd Coddington's passion for hand crafting cars began in his childhood, on a small farm outside of Rupert, Idaho.

At the age of 22, Boyd moved to Southern California, the hot rodding capital of the world. It wasn't long before Boyd established a reputation for detail and craftsmanship with his 4 wheel creations. He opened his own shop in 1978.

Boyd Coddington passed away Wednesday 2/27/2008 and will be missed by family, friends and fans around the world.

Boyd earned many awards including seven wins for America's Most Beautiful Roadsters, the prestigious Riddler Award, and Builder of the Year at the Grand National Roadster Show.

The body retains its stock look and painted with PPG red and white paint. The mild appearance is offset by the aggressive Boyd wheels & Goodyear tire combination consisting of 17x7-inch up front and 18x10-inch rear wheels. The body boasts immaculate trim and great fit-and-finish, but there are a few subtle mods. The rear bumper is Nomad chosen for it's license plate recess. No need for a mount on the trunk. The stance is perfect, thanks to the custom chassis and appropriate wheel and tire combination.

The interior looks fresh and is a combination of retro flavored threads and cutting edge details work together to offer the best of past and present. A modern billet wheel stands before a series of modern gauges living in the stock panel. Traditional red and white tuck-and-roll pleats set off the white knob atop the shifter handle.

The Junkyard Dog is fitted with a Art Morrison chassis, a 9-inch Ford rear axle and Pro coil over shocks to adjust ride height. The front suspension comes from Kugel Komponents, and the trick tubular control arms are steered via rack-and-pinion and the dog is stopped with 4 Wilwood discs. Powering the Junkyard Dog is a fresh new GM Performance 502 cubic inch Ramjet EFI engine and a Richmond 5-speed transmission, accessorized with a Long shifter, McLeod clutch, and Powertrain Industries driveshaft to link it to the 9-inch rear end.
